Flynn the brorrowers

       Flynn: The Borrowers
In 1997 Peter Hewitt created the film version of the Borrowers. Peter Hewitt included devices in the movie to reinforce messages about themes like Power, if a character is good or not and to give us emotions such as panic and fear. Peter uses camera techniques to connect us with emotions he wants us to understand like extreme close ups, high angle shots and cross cutting.

In the borrower's movie Peter Hewitt used an extreme close up Mr Ocious P. Potter was tapping on the wall. He used it to build up suspense and to show that Mr Ocious P. Potter is a bad person.

The director Peter Hewitt used a high angle shot when Pea green was in the cup to show that pod has more power than pea green because Pea green is vulnerable, scared and he doesn’t want to be there.

Peter Hewitt also used panning when the Lender's family just went out the door. He used this technique to show that there was someone else there, that there's a third eye snooping around and it shows that you're not meant to be there.

When the Lender’s were on the curb with the moving truck, Peter Hewitt used cross cutting. This was used to show that everything was happening at the same time and to build up suspension.

Peter Hewitt uses a selection of camera shots to show the powers people have over others.
